Sep. 12--BRANDON -- It's not like Brad Richards boarded up his Prince Edward Island house, pulled down the shades and locked himself inside during the summer. But the Lightning center did stay low-key somewhat longer than usual during the offseason by relaxing and hanging out with family and friends.

The exercise in escapism was "just basically to start over, start new and put everything in the past so I can focus ahead," he said. "It's easier a bit if you seclude yourself and go into a bubble."
