Compare and contrast

To belabor the obvious, your "Fleet Street'' (Long-Termers, Aug. 20) made the inane observation that while "a Honda Insight gets 50 mpg and can carry two people, [the Chevrolet Suburban] gets 16 mpg and carries eight.'' The problem is, I almost never see Suburbans with eight people in them . . . usually not even two.

R. Curtis Bosworth, Portland, Ore.

Body double?

Is it just me, or does the upcoming Mitsubishi Evo X (This Week, Aug. 20) look like a 10-year-old Subaru Legacy with fender flares?

Paul Anderson, Wilkesboro, N.C.
