Phew! It's September, so that means the 'summer' is officially over, and pitch season is here.
First off the bat is ITV, which has called a pitch for its pounds 20 million account. The bookmaker Paddy Power is tipping Bartle Bogle Hegarty to reclaim the business. The agency, which resigned the account in 2005, is the 7/4 favourite to win, followed by Mother, which has odds of 3/1. ITV's marketing chief, David Pemsel, has been working with Mother over the past couple of months, something which could give its pitch the edge. The AAR is co-ordinating proceedings.
Meanwhile, the Home Office has lined up Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO, DDB London and VCCP to compete for its pounds 10 million binge-drinking ...
