Sep. 6--CHARLOTTE -- A former teacher in York and Chester counties charged this week with multiple counts of sexual activity with a Charlotte student denied the allegation and called it retribution.

Charlotte police said Jerry Peter Seale, 62, had a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old student at Derita Alternative School in Charlotte. On Wednesday, Seale repudiated the allegation.

"No, I did not," Seale said from Charlotte police headquarters about two hours after an afternoon court appearance. "People who know me, they know what kind of person I am."

Police charged Seale on Tuesday with four counts…
