Sep. 5--For 750 Allen High School students the first day of school meant more than changing classes. It meant changing buildings by boarding a bus and traveling nearly two miles to the district's new Lehigh Street annex.

With renovations in the high school under way, the school district is using the old Allentown Business School building in the Parkway Shopping Center.

Students will attend half days at the annex, taking three to four classes there for the school year. One group is bused from Allen to the annex in the morning and another in the afternoon. The other half of the school day will be spent at Allen High.
