No one in the history of the NFL ever punted a football as consistently high and as consistently well as Ray Guy did from 1973 to 1986.

Basically a self-taught punter, Guy began developing his picture-perfect form and hang-time by punting over the high power lines behind his boyhood home in Georgia.

After earning 16 varsity letters in four sports and averaging 52 yards per punt in high school (most kids couldn't catch his punts), Guy went on to an extraordinary career at Southern Mississippi - recording 18 interceptions and a 61-yard field goal while playing safety and doing all the punting and place-kicking.
