The Tascam DA-45HR (see Figure 6) records 24-bit audio samples at either 44.1- or 48-kHz sampling rates. The recording medium is ordinary digital audio tape (DAT). Besides the typical tape-transport controls (start, stop, etc.), the unit also has a jog/shuttle wheel. It also features an extensive display that indicates tape errors.
