Dermatologists are starting to sound like Al Roker: "It's not the heat; it's the humidity," they all told us when we asked why everyone's face turns goopy during this time of year. "Perspiration and natural skin oils can't evaporate as easily when the air is really humid, so they collect on the skin's surface," says Mary Lupo, a dermatologist in New Orleans (average high in August: 91 degrees).
Reconsider Your Cleanser
Unless you have Sahara-dry skin, switch to a gel or foaming formula; it'll do a better job of soaking up oil than a heavy cream-based cleanser. Try one that contains clay for extra absorption, like Olay Foaming Mud Cleanser, $6.99. If you tend to break out, Biore's Ice Cleanser, $5.99, offers a triple whammy: It foams, contains zit-busting salicylic acid, and is spiked with menthol that actually cools your skin.
