Aug. 28--Police converged in Orchards on Monday after someone shot a man in the Harney Heights neighborhood, then allegedly sped away in a car that officers stopped on state Highway 500.

Three suspects, allegedly carrying guns, ditched the car just south of where Highway 500 curves northward to cross Northeast Fourth Plain Road, at Orchards' busiest traffic hub.

Officers quickly detained the car's driver. The other two suspects ran east from the highway toward a large industrial area south of Fourth Plain and were later detained by police.
