Aug. 25--ABOUT 70 BUSES -- mostly along suburban routes -- will likely be delayed when school opens Monday, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools warned.
The delays involve students at about 30 schools and could affect 5 percent of the 1,250-bus fleet, CMS spokeswoman Nora Carr said late Friday. Expected wait times vary.
At Coulwood Middle, for example, Bus 960 could be an estimated 80 minutes behind schedule. At Ranson Middle, Bus 12 could be 45 minutes late. CMS predicted other delays would last 10 or 15 minutes.
In some cases, the district cautioned that delays are expected, but didn't say how long.
