In a rapidly and dramatically changing information systems environment, MBAs must be competent to use and manage information systems. This paper presents the results of a survey of executives. Its purpose is to assess the preparation of MBAs in information technology concepts and skills. There is clear evidence that the preparation is falling short of the need. Implications for organizations that hire MBAs are discussed.
