Aug. 18--Bryan Station High School's new $43.9 million building proved to be a magnet for students, drawing more than 200 additional students in the first week of classes. The growth at the northern Lexington school came as Fayette County Public Schools reached its highest enrollment ever.
Bryan Station's student population grew to 1,726, compared with 1,514 in the same period last year. The district's total enrollment was up by 466 students, making this the fifth year in a row that enrollment has swelled by 300 to 400 students.
