Continuing the countdown
I really appreciated the first of this series working up to the full 50-year celebration (July 30). I would have been seven years young in 1958 and already hooked on motors and wheels. We had a home-built go-kart my Dad and Grandpa welded up, and we ran the daylights out of it. That was the start for me; that combination of internal combustion and wheels was forever imprinted on me from that time forward.

Lost in translation
I open to "This Week'' (July 30) and am greeted with the first Mugen-tuned factory Honda Civic, complete with a $30,000 price tag and four doors! What a waste. Oh wait, there's more: It's a new Mini, nine inches longer with back-up parking assist. I'm saving my money for next year's new model, the Mini-limo . . . complete with four-wheel steering.
