"Ethnic studies" is of course a bogus academic discipline, its topics adequately covered, in any well-organized university, by the departments of anthropology, sociology, history, and linguistics. Even by the fraudulent standards of a bogus discipline, though, ethnic studies professor Ward Churchill of the University of Colorado was an egregious specimen. He was also foolish. In an essay published soon after 9/11, Churchill argued that, far from being innocent victims of an atrocity, workers at the World Trade Center were "a technocratic corps at the very heart of America's global financial empire ... little Eichmanns."
