Aug. 12--Never mind that the temperature was roaring past 90 degrees Saturday morning. Or that it might have been 40 degrees hotter atop Finley Stadium's plastic grass. Or that his sore right ankle was too sore to endure practice a day earlier.

Erroll Wynn saw an opening, however small, and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga sophomore running back was going to make the most of it.

So he slashed off tackle for 13 yards, ignoring at least three would-be tacklers along the way. He finished with 40 yards on seven carries in Saturday's scrimmage and earned the following praise from his quarterback, Antonio Miller:

"I think he's got a chance to pass Eldra's record."
