The united cities of Los Angeles include many vanished historic towns, most of which are now known only as neighborhoods. People accept the idea that historic structures might remain in say, Calabasas, or Hyde Park, or even "old" Hollywood, but they are astounded when they discover how many important historic buildings are found in the city center.
