Firm plans 400,000-square-foot center at Pewaukee 'hot corner.' (Midland Development Group Inc.)

First it was West Blue Mound Road in Brookfield. Then it was Highway 83 and Interstate 94 in Delafield.

And now, it seems, it is Highway J and West Capitol Drive in the village of Pewaukee.

The Pewaukee intersection has become the area's latest commercial development hot corner. The latest proposal is a plan by Midland Development Group, St. Louis, to build a 400,000-square-foot shopping center on the northwest corner of the busy intersection.

Midland initially wants to develop a 100,000-square-foot shopping center and has an option to purchase 52 acres from Terra Development Corp., Wauwatosa, said Michael Weiss, executive vice president of Midland …
