Ron Hornaday Jr. (Chevrolet) won his third Craftsman Truck Series race this year and 32nd of his career at the Power Stroke Diesel 200 at O'Reilly Raceway Park near Indianapolis. Johnny Benson (Toyota) was second, followed by Travis Kvapil (Ford). Series leader Mike Skinner (Toyota) finished 20th and saw his points lead dip to 77 over Hornaday.
Also at ORP, Jason Leffler gave Toyota's Camry its first NASCAR win, passing Greg Biffle (Ford) in the final laps of the Kroger Busch Series 200. Biffle finished second, followed by David Reutimann. Carl Edwards (Ford) remains the runaway championship-point leader.
At the NHRA event in Sonoma, California, Tony Schumacher won over Bob Vandergriff in Top Fuel. In Funny Car, John Force (Ford Mustang) defeated Del Worsham (Chevrolet Impala). Greg Anderson beat fellow Pontiac GTO driver Jason Line in Pro Stock to record his 50th career win in 189 career starts.
