Aug. 8--MADISON -- Change is the operative word in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference this football season.

Whitewater's Bob Berezowitz retired and was replaced as coach by Lance Leipold, a former Warhawks standout who comes back to the state after serving as Nebraska-Omaha's offensive coordinator the past three years. Oshkosh turned to defensive coordinator Pat Cerroni after Phil Meyer left to become an assistant at Minnesota. Duey Naatz was left to pick up the pieces at Stout after Todd Strop abruptly resigned after the arrest of two players for possession of steroids and other illegal drugs.
