MELBOURNE, August 1 Asia Pulse - More water has poured into Melbourne's parched reservoirs in the past five weeks than in any similar period since 1992, the city's water authority says.
The winter reservoir boost, sparked by a deluge in the city's catchment areas that caused major flooding in the Gippsland region, has added 126 billion litres of water to the reservoirs, pushing the city's total dam capacity from 28.4 per cent in late June to 35.8 per cent yesterday.
