Jul. 29--BALLANTYNE -- When the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School board announced last week a southern Mecklenburg school would be dropped from its school bond proposal, some parents were worried:
Did that mean an end to one of the three much-talked-about Ballantyne area elementary schools?
It didn't. Those schools -- Elon Park Elementary and the new Flat Branch and Providence Road West elementaries -- are happening, being paid for by previous school bonds or other funding methods. (For the latest construction status of those schools, see the box at right below.)
