Jul. 27--Most American Legion players dream someday of competing in NCAA Division I baseball.

Davis Hewett slips into a different cate gory. He's already a Division I player.

The slugging, Glen Allen Post 244 right-fielder is coming off a productive freshman season at Philadelphia's La Salle University.

A Midlothian resident and 2006 Benedictine graduate, Hewett started 36 games this past spring, posting a .270 average with 16 RBI and eight stolen bases.

The 6-3 205-pounder made the Atlantic 10 school as a walk-on and quickly nudged into the lineup.
