Jul. 26--Some Amity Township residents hope to fill a longtime void in the growing community.
The township has parks, playgrounds and recreation areas, but there's no indoor facility where families can go to work out, swim, play games or socialize.
And with a dwindling supply of available land in Amity, a group says now is the time to pursue a recreation center.
"As I saw the land disappear in Amity Township, I thought it would be good to have a place for kids and families to exercise," said Janet E. Levengood, who's part of a committee working on the project. "All of us are concerned about physical fitness." …
