Jul. 25--WASHINGTON -- Acknowledging that the House Agriculture Committee's farm bill is compromise legislation that will not please everybody, several committee members on Tuesday urged support when the full House takes up the measure Thursday.
"Funding the program is something that will be questioned by some conservative Democrats and Republicans, but I think that's been worked out," said Rep. Lincoln Davis, D-Tenn., a panel member. "There may be some that want more subsidies, and some that want (subsidy cuts) to go further, but it is a compromise."
