Jul. 25--OAKLAND -- Oakland Mayor Ron Dellums said Tuesday that both sides in the East Bay's 24-day-old garbage lockout had reached resolution on several issues. The announcement came just hours after a judge told the garbage company in those talks that it will face a contempt of court charge for failing to pick up the city's piled up trash.

"I'm very pleased to announce we have reached agreement on several outstanding issues," Dellums told a crowd of reporters Tuesday night, after more than 10 hours of negotiations. "I believe the remaining issues can be resolved."
