Jul. 21--VENICE -- When 15 students graduated in May from Lincoln Charter School, it marked the end of an experiment.
The Venice school is shutting down three years after it replaced the shuttered Venice High School. It was a situation unique in Illinois education: a charter school sponsored by a regional office to replace a closed high school.
