Michaels Stores Inc. has outgrown its North Irving campus and is looking for 400,000 square feet to 500,000 square feet of warehouse space and up to 200,000 square feet of office space, Michaels Executive Vice President Douglas Sullivan confirmed.

Sullivan said Michaels has hired The Staubach Co. to lead its search, which should be complete "within 12 to 18 months."

Michaels currently operates from a four-building campus on Campus Circle Drive in Irving that includes 225,000 square feet of warehouse space and 80,000 square feet of office space.

The arts-and-crafts retailer grew from 220 stores to 380 during 1994, and the company is working on an expansion of …
