Byline: CURT CAVIN
As the Indycar season passes its midpoint, we review the good, the bad and the ugly.
Hot: Dario Franchitti
Three victories through the season's first nine races [this story was written before the Watkins Glen Indy Grand Prix scheduled for July 8] put Franchitti alone at the top of the list for most 2007 wins, including the Indianapolis 500. As a bonus, the Scot has a healthy lead in the standings for what could be his first major championship.
Not: Marco Andretti
Andretti proclaimed himself a contender after winning last year's road-course race at Infineon, but he has been anything but championship material. It took him seven tries to finish an oval-track race, and he crashed out of three. Twice he climbed out of a car unable to drive it. He broke through by finishing second at the new Iowa race.
Hot: Scott Dixon
