ECCLESTONE REVEALED
Formula One boss Bernie Ecclestone's official biography will hit shelves this fall. The book, written by Susan Watkins-wife of former F1 medical chief Sid Watkins-is titled Bernie and will reveal "The true struggle behind his fortune, the background to his relationships with politics and what reality, if any, there is to his detractors' accusations.'' Watkins has known Ecclestone for more than 20 years and has been preparing the book for at least five.
GP2'S NEW RIDE
Europe's GP2 Series unveiled its second-generation race car, which it will use from 2008 to 2010. At the same time, GP2 director Bruno Michel confirmed the ongoing participation of Renault and Bridgestone as engine and tire suppliers.
Built in Italy by Dallara Automobili (Dallara keeps the chassis contract), the GP2/08 differs visibly from its predecessor, with a new engine bay and rear suspension layout, a new front end with a much lower nose and a single-keel chassis layout.
