Anxious to reduce the high student-dropout rate, the Seminole County School Board may turn the task over to a sometimes controversial Baltimore firm.
But the company's success in getting kids back on track toward a diploma in other Florida counties could overshadow any concerns.
"Too many good kids who are not in school should be in school," Walt Griffin, supervisor of secondary education for the Seminole district, told the board Tuesday in a push for the program designed to take dropouts off the streets.
