Designer Philippe Starck describes his only Moscow restaurant as a "dark shrine" to the city's "excesses of sex, violence and food." Excess is right: the table lamps are made of gold-plated Kalashnikovs, and Gothic accessories--including a silver skull and a rhinoceros head--preside over the main dining room. The walls are covered in neo-Renaissance frescoes interspersed with creepy graffiti messages like I'LL BREAK YOUR NECK and GIVE IT BACK.
Ambience: Deliciously vulgar, a bit disturbing. Rich patrons lounge in carved thrones while their girlfriends curl up among gold-lame cushions on the sofas.
