The new secretary of state for work and pensions has so far ignored campaigners' requests for a meeting to discuss pension compensation, despite tackling the issue in parliament.
Two weeks ago the Pensions Action Group (PAG) wrote to Peter Hain, head of the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), calling for a meeting to ascertain his position on the Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS). However, the group, which is fighting for adequate compensation for the 125,000 occupational scheme members who lost everything when their schemes wound up, said it had not heard from Hain, or the minister for pensions reform, Mike O'Brien.
A spokesman for PAG said: "I am not aware of either the secretary of state or the pensions minister responding to anyone, including Ros Altmann [lead campaigner] at PAG. It is hard to see how they can offer the opinions they did in last week's debate without talking to the experts first."
