Jul. 10--Gov. Jennifer Granholm will visit Sweden and Germany on a five-day trade mission in August.
The trade mission is set for Aug. 19-25. It will include a keynote speech by Granholm to the Swedish American Chamber of Commerce conference.
Granholm said Tuesday morning she will meet with government officials and companies -- 13 of them in Sweden -- from the automotive and alternative energy industries in hopes of enticing them to locate operations in Michigan. She said Sweden and Germany are leaders in development of alternative energy, and that Sweden is a world leader in converting waste products to energy.
