Jul. 9--K.J. Louis has an affinity for the military. The 6-year-old dons Army gear most days and thinks he understands the toll a deployment takes on a family. That's why when his mom suggested raising money for military families in Nebraska and Iowa this year, K.J. was on board.
"This is his way to give back," said K.J.'s mother, Sherri Louis. "I say, 'Can you imagine Mom and Dad being gone for 300 days or longer?' We pray about all this kind of stuff." K.J. and his mother formed K.J.'s Carts for Kids in 2005 when K.J. wanted to help children affected by Hurricane Katrina.
