AOL Music Live! hosted the first of what it hopes will become an annual live music event on Thursday, drawing invited guests and members of the public along to the IndigO2 - sister venue to the O2 - for an evening of live music from Crowded House, The Thrills, Tiny Dancers and The Magic Numbers.
The event, entitled the AOL Music Live! Summer Cooler, follows AOL's Winter Warmer event in November and was the first public event to be held at the venue, following the brand's confirmation as official partner of the O2.
Content from the show is available free and exclusively from www.aol.co.uk and fans can download a free audio track from each of the artists who performed on the night, over the course of this week.
The original Winter Warmer featured performances by Amy Winehouse, Mika, Sugababes, McFly and Just Jack and took place at The Forum in London's Kentish Town.
AOL Music Live! music editor Mike Hales says the company's involvement with live music sessions provides the brand with valuable, multi- content opportunities, which can drive online traffic.
"When we do events like this not only do we have the live footage of the show itself but we can also offer interviews with the artists and backstage features, so we have an ownership on very unique, bespoke content. It sets you apart," he says. "Live music is so hot at the moment, it feels like we've hit the right place at the right time."
