IT MUST HAVE BEEN embarrassing for the emperor when he finally realized he had no clothes. Still, the ancient fable says he continued to parade along as if he were fully covered. What else could he do at that point?

Mind you, it would have been somewhat embarrassing for the assembled crowd, too. No one likes to admit the fellow governing you is a fool.
