Economic activity in the manufacturing sector expanded in June for the fifth consecutive month, according to a survey of supply executives.

With a PMI Index at 56 percent, up from 55 in May, new orders, production and employment are growing; inventory growth is contracting, and deliveries are faster, according to the Manufacturing ISM Report On Business for June.   The report was issued July 2 by Norbert J. Ore, C.P.M., chair of the Institute for Supply Management Manufacturing Business Survey Committee.
