Jun. 30--Gov. Charlie Crist did the right thing this week when he changed his mind and agreed to let Florida's top three research universities charge higher tuition than other state schools.
Clearly this governor is willing to listen and, refreshingly, keep an open mind. This was a particularly tough call for Mr. Crist because allowing the University of Florida, Florida State University and the University of South Florida to raise tuitions by as much as $1,000 over the next four years runs counter to his philosophy of keeping government costs low.
