CONSTRUCTION Northwest Underwater Construction has hired Patrick Barr as an operations manager. Barr is responsible for logistics and staffing for the Vancouver and Seattle offices and project management for Northwest Underwater Construction's nationwide diving and marine construction programs. He has 12 years of heavy marine construction experience and four years of military experience in the Navy.

LAW Law firm Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt has hired summer associates Melissa Berube, Peir Chu, Abra Cooper, Sara Cotton, Nichole Enriquez, Dale Fujimoto, Manasi Kumar, C. Brad Page, Sharon Rye and Jo Ann Schmidt in its Portland office and John Davis in its Vancouver office. Berube is a student at the University of Washington. Chu, Cotton, Enriquez and Kumar are students at Lewis & Clark College. Cooper, Fujimoto and Page are students at the University of Oregon Davis is a student at Willamette University. Rye is a student at the University of Virginia. Schmidt is a student at the University of Illinois.

ENGINEERING MacKay & Sposito Inc. has hired Marcy Patterson in its Vancouver office. Additionally, employees Bridget Yelton and Kelly Uhacz have passed their professional engineering exams and received their Washington licenses. Patterson joins MacKay & Sposito as its controller. She served as the client service manager for a Vancouver accounting firm. She has 18 years of experience and received her Bachelor of Science in management science and accounting from the State University of New York at Geneseo. Yelton is a project engineer in the Wilsonville office. She received her Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Portland State University in 2005. Uhacz is a project engineer in the Vancouver office. He has six years of engineering experience and is a graduate of Portland State with a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in civil engineering.
