Jun. 26--History, as we know it, is safe. The 1973 Rangers, those who haven't been institutionalized, can relax. Their legacy of losing appears destined to somehow survive the vagaries of the current team's bottomless ineptitude.

That Rangers' cap with the big "L" on it that was used to dramatize a recent story in this paper speculating about where this team ranked among other big-time losers around here? Cute, but the message from The Ballpark, where the Rangers just wrapped up a third consecutive series by taking two of three from the Astros: Stick it where the sun don't shine, and make room for the Silver Boot trophy, too.
