A stronger market presence in Canada for FedEx Freight likely won't mean a rate windfall for shippers.

FedEx Freight Canada, formed as a subsidiary of FedEx Freight in February, unveiled its new headquarters and 48-door service center in Toronto June 14. At the same time the company said it will take advantage of what it sees as a huge growth opportunity.

"This new facility establishes a strong base from which FedEx Freight Canada will quickly expand its operations across the country," said Grant Crawford, vice president and general manager for FedEx Freight Canada.
