Jun. 26--It has been said many times in the 100-plus years that pitchers have been toeing the rubber in the major leagues:

It ain't a beauty contest.

Ben Sheets was far from sharp Monday night when he took the mound for the Milwaukee Brewers against Houston at Miller Park, but it didn't matter. It never does, as long as you win.

"It wasn't pretty but everybody looks better when you win," Sheets admitted.

Nobody was asking questions after Sheets held the Astros to one run over six innings in a 6-1 victory that gave the Brewers a 6-1 record on the home stand with two games to go.
