Jun. 26--The field being cleared for development on 135th Street West between 13th and 21st streets looks normal, but it promises to introduce new points of reference to Wichitans.

The field will become Silverton Addition, the first Wichita subdivision in the Renwick school district.

Homowners in Silverton and subsequent subdivisions must master the traffic around St. Marks and Andale, learn new school board members, figure out who they play in 3A sports.

Renwick isn't Maize or Goddard, school districts with which west-siders are more familiar. It's a huge rural district -- part of which is in Reno County -- with high…
