Jun. 20--You won't believe this girl was that good, that helpful, that conscientious, that smart, that dedicated to improving the world. But she was.

Danielle Elizabeth Liotta of Mooresville died June 2 as a result of an automobile accident. She was 19 and had just completed her first year at UNC Chapel Hill, where she had made the dean's list. She was majoring in biology and chemistry with a minor in Spanish and was in the marching band. She played clarinet in the symphonic band and was a member of the Mu Beta Psi music fraternity.

From first grade to the end of her first college year, Danielle had missed only one day, said…
