Including boost converter that raises main battery voltage (288 V) up to maximum system voltage (650 V), Power control unit has 2 inverters to convert dc into ac for main traction motors. PCU can be used in hybrid vehicle systems with different output levels by changing number of stacked power devices and cooling tubes. Battery cooling system uses cooled air from cooling unit of rear air conditioning system and cabin air to cool main battery.
