Jun. 18--When Katy Butler decided to teach first grade, she knew she'd be wearing many hats, from reading coach to disciplinarian.

She had no idea she'd be a concert performer.

But on Friday, Butler was belting out lyrics in the front of the school auditorium while her students clapped, danced and cried.

A.V. Norrell Elementary School, where Butler just has completed her first year as a teacher, holds its morning announcements in the auditorium, family-style.

Friday morning, the teachers treated the students to a show. The students threw off their backpacks and danced. One started break dancing on the floor.

It was the final day…
