Apparently spending two, three, four and even five or six dollars for a greeting card doesn't seem to faze too many customers these days now that the economy is creeping up slowly. It may be slowly, but the fact that it is creeping up, isn't bad news at all.
Too, with the Republican sweep of Congress and with their plans being publicized for a different kind of economy, the public seems to feel that the purse strings could be loosened a bit. And from early indications (just before Christmas) stores are doing better this year than they have for the past five or even ten years, say some mavens.
So, what does the greeting card retailer have to do with all this? …
