KEEBLER: Two hot, sunny days with the MX-5, and I put the top down every chance I got. I have a sunburn on my forehead now, but I just don't care. It was the perfect Woodward Avenue cruiser one night when we went for ice cream and watched the sunset. The power hardtop is easy, fast, no sweat to put up when parking for a quick run into the store and back down afterward. The car has a very cool silhouette when the top is up, too. Interior fit, finish and trim are all lovely. The Mazda is more mature and refined than the Pontiac Solstice, but it still has the usual roadster roughness in ride and handling and noise. It's plenty zippy but feels a tad heavy for what it is, probably because of the hardtop.
WONG: I prefer the looks of the old car. The front end is too rounded and bubbly for my liking, but that's quickly forgotten on the drive. ...
