Ford driver Marcus Gronholm extended his World Rally Championship points lead to nine by winning the Acropolis Rally in Greece.
Gronholm led the event from the afternoon of the first day, despite rough and rocky conditions and extremely high heat that saw in-car temperatures exceed 45 degrees Celsius (113 degrees Fahrenheit).
"We've had the perfect rally, no problems at all,'' he said. "I didn't expect to be leading after the first day, and the fact that we have had no mechanical worries on one of the toughest rallies of the year is a real compliment to the strength of the car.''
