Byline: CURT CAVIN
The Indy Racing League has a soap opera on its hands after Danica Patrick scuffled with Dan Wheldon following the race at the Milwaukee Mile.
Patrick confronted Wheldon because they'd made contact on lap 89 of 225. Patrick grabbed Wheldon's elbow and gave him a light shove.
The incident stole the spotlight from Tony Kanaan, who won the race and eased some of the pain of losing the Indianapolis 500.
Among other things, Patrick said Wheldon needed "a brain check.'' Wheldon wasn't amused.
"If she wants to get feisty, I'm a lot tougher than her on the track,'' he said.
The incident happened after Patrick passed Wheldon and Franchitti in turn four. They drag-raced down the front straightaway before Franchitti pulled out of the fray.
